The extended range course is the technical entry level course that allows you to start your technical diving adventures. This is a 4 day course that will allow you to dive to a maximum depth of 45 metres and have up to 25 minutes of decompression. You will also be allowed to accelerate that decompression with the use of a stage cylinder that can have up to 100% O2.

Technical diving course

The course consists of 3 parts:

Theory: During the theory sessions you will learn about

  • Technical dive equipment.
  • How your body reacts during a dive beyond the recreational decompression limits.
  • Decompression theory and decompression procedures.
  • How to do an in depth dive plan.

Skill Development: During this section you will head to the sea and practice the skills needed to become a technical diver, such as:

  • Different finning techniques.
  • Buoyancy and Trim.
  • Emergency valve shut downs.
  • Out of gas emergencies
  • How to use the stage cylinder
  • SMB deployment
Decompression Procedures

Dives: We will be conducting 6 dives during the course. We will start off with a maximum depth of 30 metres, then 40 metres and then to our maximum of 45 metres. We will also be conducting decompression during the dives. We will start off with a simulated decompression ascent, then move on to real decompression ascents.

Price:

The price of the Extended Range course is €720. This includes equipment, certification and 2 dives on the Zenobia wreck.

Prerequisites:

You must be an Open Water Diver with a Deep and Nitrox Speciality licence with at least 50 dives.

What to bring:

Bathing suit, sun cream, all required licences and your logbook.
